JSON "access denied" error when trying to query database
I am following the tutorial here:
http://www.androidhive.info/2012/01/android-login-and-registration-with-php-mysql-and-sqlite/
When I run my app I get the errors:
09-06 19:22:11.667: E/JSON(861): Access Deniedn
09-06 19:22:11.687: E/JSON Parser(861): Error parsing data
org.json.JSONException: Value Access of type java.lang.String cannot be
converted to JSONObject
09-06 19:22:11.687: E/LoginTask(861): No login response was received
I don't understand why it won't allow me to connect to my database. Here
is my coding:
Config.php
<?php
/**
* Database config variables
*/
define("DB_HOST", "localhost");
define("DB_USER", "root@localhost");
define("DB_PASSWORD", "");
define("DB_DATABASE", "android_api");
?>
DB_Connect.php
<?php
class DB_Connect {
// constructor
function __construct() {
}
// destructor
function __destruct() {
// $this->close();
}
// Connecting to database
public function connect() {
require_once 'config.php';
// connecting to mysql
$con = mysql_connect(localhost, root@localhost, "");
// selecting database
mysql_select_db(android_api);
// return database handler
return $con;
}
// Closing database connection
public function close() {
mysql_close();
}
}
?>
I am using XAMPP and localhost. I don't have any password set up on my
database. Here are my classes:

Is there anything wrong with my coding? I don't understand why this isn't
working. In my app, when I click the Register button for the user to
register their name, email, and password, I get these errors. Maybe it is
a problem with my Register.java? Here is that:

Please help. I am new to android programming so sorry if I misunderstand
something. I really don't want to continue working on my app until I have
this database working and I don't have long to work on it. Thanks in
advance!
